Villa Nigra, Miasino, Italy
For those who need a small change from the post-war architecture of the Ruhr area in summer, we recommend the exhibition "di-lago" for contemporary art in the Villa Nigra in the Italian community of Miasino, which was created in German-Italian cooperation.
For "di-lago" (literally: "From the lake"), the exhibited works of art leave the artists' studio or the white wall of the gallery and enter the abandoned rooms of the villa from the seventeenth century. German and Italian artists enter into a dialogue with the historical surroundings of Villa Nigra, whose works temporarily take possession of the special surfaces of the rooms and use them for themselves. The "blue" thread that connects all artistic interventions is water.
Artists: Gerry Di Fonzo, Harald Fuchs, Francesco Garbelli / Ferdinando Greco, Birgit Jensen, Birgit Kahle, Damaris Lipke, Maik+Dirk Löbbert, Marta Nijhuis, Peter Simon + Freya Hattenberger, Urs Twellmann, Frauke Wilken. The project is curated in cooperation with the Italian cultural association Asilo Bianco and the German association Lo Spirito del Lago.
