In the 1960s and 1970s, a multitude of architecturally visionary ideas emerged, striving for a social and structural ideal. Some of these designs remained utopias. The Department of Architecture would now like to take a new look at the findings from these housing experiments and is therefore organising a lecture evening on the subject, including a vernissage, from 6 p.m. on 30 April. The developments and ideas of that time will be reexamined and discussed with a view on future social developments and challenges.
The evening takes place in cooperation with the Deutscher Werkbund Nordrhein-Westfalen and is also the vernissage of the exhibition "Learning from Utopia", in which the results of the integrated project by Prof. Diana Reichle and Prof. Dr. Alexandra Apfelbaum from WS 2018/2019 will be presented.
