Bochum
On Thursday, 23 May 2019, the new exhibition of the Kunstsammlung der RUB post_minimal conceptual_now will open in the Museum unter Tage. Until 20 October, interested visitors are invited to see how contemporary artists dedicate themselves to the questions of (post-)Minimal and Conceptual Art of the 1960s and 1970s, examine their topicality and try out new readings. The works by Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt, Bruce Nauman, Adrian Piper, and Timm Ulrichsstanden, which at that time had a lasting effect on the art discourse of post-war modernism, are a response to the upheavals of the 1960s and 1970s. With new notions of objecthood and space, they transformed traditional concepts of authorship, work, and reception.
The exhibition in the Museum unter Tage reflects how art today describes the challenges of the 1960s and 1970s and integrates once marginalized semantics. Philipp Goldbach, Franka Hörnschemeyer, Guido Münch, Benedikt Terwiel, Wolfgang Winter, and Berthold Hoerbelt vividly show how this happens in very different ways. The exhibition shows their works and installations, which were also realized in situ for the first time, in dialogue with works of (post-)Minimal and Conceptual Art.
With artistic contributions by Philipp Goldbach, Franka Hörnschemeyer, Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt, Adrian Piper, Guido Münch, Bruce Nauman, Benedikt Terwiel, Timm Ulrichs and Winter/Hoerbelt. The exhibition is curated by the Kunstsammlung der RUB.
