The Grugabad pools have been filled with fresh water since 4 May 2019 and are ready to start the 56th swimming season with all outdoor pool lovers. But in the Ruhr area's largest open-air swimming pool you can do much more than just sunbathing and high diving. Since 2017, the Grugabad-Freunde e.V. has been organising a series of events together with various partners so that long-standing Grugabad fans and Grugabad discoverers can spend exciting summer days in the listed waters. The programme includes art bathing and sports bathing, canoe polo, diving and power paddling, public guided tours and the Open Monument Day, night swimming and dog swimming, as well as swimming breakfast, the Last Supper and the Last Wave.
Public guided tours are especially recommended for those interested in architecture. Every first Sunday of the month, the Grugabad friends, together with the Grugabad team, invite you to take exciting walks through the architecture and history of the Big Beautiful Building.
