Bochum

International Summer School July 26-28, 2018
The post-war modernism of the 1950s to 1970s is being rediscovered. So far, however, only a few are aware of the innovative, experimental and forward-looking aspects of the buildings, facilities and structures of this construction phase. Therefore, the participants in the summer school "Yesterday's Future for Tomorrow" will search for clues and discover and think further about the special, characteristic - but also the everyday tasks - of these architectures and urban spaces.
The three-day Summer School "Yesterday's Future for Tomorrow" at the VHS Bochum will take place within the framework of the European Cultural Heritage Year 2018 in the project "Big Beautiful Buildings. When we built the future".
Excursions to "Big Beautiful Buildings" and workshops in the VHS are offered, discussion rounds are organized and results of student works with a new view of post-war modernity are presented in an exhibition.
The exact programme can be found here.
