Beton Beauties - Brutalism in the Ruhr Area

For some people concrete is the most diverse and therefore most interesting building material, for others it is simply ugly. With this bus tour you can get your own impression. We accompany you into the heyday of concrete construction and show you outstanding examples from the 1960s and 1970s. Among them famous buildings, such as the pilgrimage church at Neviges or the Ruhr University Bochum, but also insider tips, such as the Liebfrauenkirche in Duisburg or the Kreishaus in Schwelm.

•Starting point: DOC I Dortmunder Centrum für Medizin & Gesundheit, Kampstraße 45, 44137 Dortmund (in front of the entrance to Kampstraße)

•End of the tour: Liebfrauenkirche - König-Heinrich-Platz 3, 47051 Duisburg. From here you can reach Duisburg main station on foot in about 10 minutes, or you can take our bus back to the starting point. End of the tour approx. 17:30 o'clock, arrival in Dortmund approx. 18:30 o'clock.
