Bochum
With the great social reform movements of the 1960s, the church also ventured to make changes. The changes in the order of worship and the more active involvement of the congregation (including the Second Vatican Council) also had an impact on the architecture of new churches. There were no limits to the architects' inventiveness. The churches of the 1950s to 1970s are therefore still among the most unusual buildings to be discovered in the Ruhr area.
